Network Railcard FAQs
Is a Network Railcard better than a 26-30 Railcard?
Whether a Network Railcard or a 26-30 Railcard is better depends on your specific travel needs and circumstances.
The 26-30 Railcard covers the vast majority of Great Britain, whereas the Network Railcard only serves the South East of England and London, meaning the former has greater flexibility of use. However, the Network Railcard’s discount extends to up to four adults and four children, meaning more money can be saved on group journeys. Although the cost of the Railcards are the same at £30 for a year, there are more ticket restrictions for Network Railcards compared with 26-30 Railcards, including First Class and Advance tickets.
Ultimately, you should consider where you may want to travel, who with and at what times before purchasing your Railcard as both have their own benefits.
