Ideal for Large Groups

What Is a Family & Friends Railcard?

The Family & Friends Railcard provides discounts on most UK rail fares to groups consisting of at least one adult and one child travelling together, or a maximum of four adults and four children. All adults will receive ⅓ off their individual ticket price, whilst any child travelling in the group receives 60% off their own fare. Up to two adults can be named on the card, although only one is necessary. As long as the named adult meets the requirments of the Railcard (i.e. travelling with one child), they can buy discounted tickets for different individuals on each journey.

Family & Friends Railcards are only £30 for one year or £70 for three years, and offer average annual savings of up to £116 per year*, although there is no limit on the number of times you can use the Railcard during the validity period.

The Family & Friends Railcard is ideal for those who travel in large groups together frequently, such as families with children.

This Railcard provides discounts on ticket types such as Anytime, Off-Peak, Advance and more. You can travel any time on weekends and public holidays, although, during weekdays, discounts are not available when travelling between two stations inside London and the South East area during morning peak time (before 9:30 am).

For an in-depth breakdown of eligibility and terms of use, see below.
