Colourful Colonial Streets
La Candelaria is an amazing part of Bogota to visit, as one of the most beautiful and historic districts, this is where you can come to escape modernity and step back into colonial times.
You’ll get a real bohemian vibe while walking through these streets, and will be able to gaze upon a multitude of artistic and musical offerings by those regularly practising their craft. It truly is an area filled with life, colour and vibrancy that totally captured my heart!
Whether you choose to duck into small eateries, grab a pastry or two, or simply admire the street art, it’ll be a pleasant sensory overload!

Michaela (@uncoveringcities) Mount Monserrate in Bogota - Colombia 🇨🇴
Mount Monserrate is a place that you can’t miss if you are in the city of Bogota D.C. Getting there is pretty easy as it is located in downtown and all drivers know where is located or you can stay in nearby hotels. It’s a place that is worthy to see both: during day and night time as the lights makes the place look stunning. There is a lot of walking and climbing to do if you want to properly explore the place. So plan ahead to dress comfortably specially good walking shoes and WATER!

Guatavita Lake - Colombia 🇨🇴
Guatavita Lake is one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the city of Guatavita. As this landmark is very far from the nearest city, you need to arrange private transportation to get there or buy a half day tour which is quite popular. This tour will arrange round trip transportation in comfortable buses. Once you arrive to this place you might want to spend three or four hours to include the hike, stops for drinking water, break, and picture time. This place is surrounded just with nature and fresh air. There are many trail options which are serene, peaceful, not crowded, lush green and an easy to hike. The hike could be challenging only in the case you are not used to high altitudes. There is so much history involved in this place so you might need a tour guide to know all details or talk to local people.

One of the most visited tourist sites in Bogota - El Museo de Oro - or, the Museum of Gold. Here, we witnessed the largest collection of gold artefacts (said to be around 34,000 pieces) that showcase everything from pottery and textile objects to jewellery and more - all highlighting the country’s indigenous culture / past. An interesting and informative place to visit for anyone in the city!

Take the cable car to the Montserrat mountain - Monserrat view, is one of the special recommendations in Bogota, Colombia.
is the commanding height of the whole Bogota. You can choose to walk on foot, about 40 minutes in one way, or take the cable car, and it will take five minutes.
There is still a pilgrimage center for local believers. The road to the mountain is also known as the Cross Road, along with stories depicting the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.
The white monastery on the top of the mountain can be seen in almost any corner of Bogota. And because of its unique location, it is the best view point overlooking Bogota.
At the top of the mountain, you can not only visit the top-level churches that have seen miracles in the legend, but also the entire Bogota.
Standing on the hill overlooking the city, I feel my own smallness. There is a statue of Christ in the church. There are many miracles in the legend.
Walking through the old city of Bogota, the colorful faades line the cobblestone streets of Bogota's colonial center. It is a pleasant walk.
Bolivar Square is the most important square in the city and the starting point for perfect travel.
To say that in Bogota, it is leisurely and free, because everything is the original appearance of life, full of color and not artificial.
From colonial architecture to trendy bars, every neighborhood in Bogota is full of energy and has a very special energy.
Visit the famous San Alberto cafe in Bogota and participate in the tasting of their molecular coffee making process. The good coffee can also be extended to a better taste in many ways~
All their coffee beans are carefully cultivated by the farmers, artificially picked to achieve the best results, harvest the best boutique beans.
365 days a year, they have 40 weeks to manage the coffee tree. From weeding and fertilizing, we must always check whether the coffee tree has patients, and also pay attention to climate change, the renewal of coffee trees, and the treatment of old trees.
This is to ensure that the harvested coffee meets the quality standards.
tried a variety of coffee products in various preparation methods, all have a good taste.
Botero's best collection
If you visit Bogota, I highly recommend you to save some time slot for the Museum of Fernando Botero. The entrace is free because it was the will of the artist. His vast collection of the greatest painting masters and his own works is really impressive even for art laicks like me. The unique style is so easy to recognise and is so much fun 😉

In the oldest neighborhood of Colombia, city walk

Nearby, Plaza de Bolivar is a popular spot with many famous landmarks, such as the Bogotá Cathedral (Catedral Primada), the National Capitol (Capitolio Nacional), the City Hall, and the Courthouse, all of which are great for taking photos.
