Terrible hygiene for a relatively new hotel (~3 years old). Booked the most premium room, studio suite with pool access and was horrified to find numerous small bugs and spiders moving around on the bed sheets below the pillows.
Immediately went to the concierge to let them know about the issue as part of my courtesy and received a horrible attitude from the senior staff. Instead of getting an apology, the senior staff asked to see photos (the room was literally just 2-3mins walk away but I showed them anyway). After seeing the evidence, the senior staff still did not make an apology until we told them that they could literally just walk to the room to check if they didn’t believe.
Shortly after, they yielded and said they will change the room (at this point, still no apology). The wait started and we were just left alone at the lobby for a good 45mins with no updates and notice.
We cancelled the stay immediately and was still met with passive aggressive attitude.
The hotel is underwhelming, far from the beach and close to a stale canal or some sort. Expect a bunch of mosquitos as we were bitten numerous times in less than an hour there). It also takes almost 2 hours to get there from the airport, wasted our time.
Should have read more of the reviews before booking. A pity as the other Wyndham hotels look decent. But for this particular resort, absolutely do not recommend.
