A charming historic landmark right on Macquarie Street- close to all landmark interests. I got upgraded to room 6 which was quite comfortable in size. Bed was comfy and nice bathroom. Breakfast is excellent- and included with my booking. Holly and staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. I went on a Bruny Tour - pickup nearby and saw the albino wallabies!

The room provided by this hotel was so bad. The toilet in the room was connected to the room, so I couldn't use the toilet in the middle of the night, otherwise the loud pumping sound would disturb my sleep. In addition, the room I booked had 4A paper on the wall. The room felt uncomfortable at first glance. It looked like a temporary pavilion (a storage space next to the stairs). It felt very bad. . I don’t know if it’s a problem with Ctrip or the hotel. Please reply.

The hotel is an old house 🏚️, with large rooms and a high roof. It feels like living in an old castle. It is clean and tidy. It is close to Salaman Square and Constitution Pier. There is a church opposite ⛪️. The breakfast is simple and full, which is good 👍

Beautiful historic building, although on a busy street the room was very quiet. We stayed in the Macquarie suite which was large and comfortable, king size bed. The feather and down pillows were divine. Plentiful continental breakfast. Very personal feel to this hotel. Staff were amazing especially Yuma. Short walk to the CBD, Salamanka and the wharf area.

stayed here for 3 nights over the long weekend paying $308 per night. Payment is required on check in. BUT before you pay check out your room. Pity i did not. Stayed in room #7 Heritage room it had not been decorated for years. These are the defects found. Paint peeling of the ceiling. Holes in the wall by the bed. Cracked floor tiles in the bathroom. Galvanised brkt on wall in bathroom . Settee was old and tired. One day there was no teacups or tea after the room had been serviced . Toiletries are not replaced daily. The only good things were that the bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was adequate. This is DEFFINATELY NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL. Tried to speak to the owner/manager on check out but he did not come to see me also tried to speak to him by phone the following day but was told he was out . Left my number but he did not call back. We the public are his livelyhood he needs to get his act together
